Tap Into Cloud Storage And Move Your Legal Archive Solution Here

By Steve Oates

IT Resources and Cloud Computer 6 Reasons to Move Your Business IT Resources

If you've been looking for a faster, more efficient solution for your company's IT resources, you've probably come across the term "cloud computing." Cloud services and virtualization reduce the real estate needed to house large servers, reduce energy costs, reduce staff hours and speed up slower internal and external applications. Uprooting current computer network logic flow and hardware equipment is a scary proposal for most IT managers, but the cloud also has a streamlined process for moving your resources. Here are several reasons you should move to the virtualized cloud.

Hardware Space

Floor space is grater for server racks. Climate control and security are just two additional needs for your own data center not to mention power redundancy and possibly generators. There are additional requirements as it relates to windows and doors, all of which goes away if you consider a cloud solution. When a company creates virtual servers these problems are mitigated. One always needs some physical devices but one can reduce the physical space.

Energy Costs

Stand alone server room space usually represents a large portion of the companies utility cost. These facilities need to be cooled constantly every day all the time but companies that change to cloud services are automatically enjoying significant cost savings on just utilities. The savings under this line item alone is one serious reason to consider cloud storage solutions.

Technology Team

Because you manage your own server room currently you must pay employees to be available on call. And given the extensive equipment server types of skills are required so sometimes multiple personnel handle their area of specialty. Cloud solutions allow companies to save costs by turning over some support responsibility to the cloud service provider. Hosting companies are replacing hardware and monitoring power, air conditioning, etc.

Backup and Storage Solution

Reduction of backup hardware is another item that goes away once a company moves to cloud computing. Expensive hard drives are normally needed frequently with larger data storage but with cloud services the hosting company handles the cost as part of the monthly fee. The backup process is also much faster in a cloud service solution as compared to tape backups which are much slower.

Information Security

Data security is no small task and the costs associated with it are higher if the company must handle everything internal. If you don't have the right security, the costs are even higher because penetration and failures will occur. With cloud services, even the backups are secure but you have peace of mind that the data is out of reach.

Shrinking IT Budgets

You only pay for the cloud services you actually use. In addition, you are no longer required to buy and maintain your own expensive equipment. If your company demands change so can your cloud services by increasing the systems you need. You can also scale back the resources when you don't need them, a unique offering of cloud services.

Moving your IT resources is an unknown and sometimes frightening proposition for most business owners and managers, but it's worth the effort. The time and energy savings alone are significant for small businesses. Make sure you choose the right provider, which can be done as long as you research the company and look at your contract before signing it.

I want to recommend a great company to help with this. SAVIT Group helps companies contemplating this very thing. They offer cloud services but also help with implementation and setup. Give them a call at 919.999.2049 to inquire about a free consultation. You might be surprised to find out how much money you can save, how much more time you'll have and increased productivity for your company.

Companies Need Business Continuity Planning

By Frankline Bell

As a business owner or manager, you probably are consumed with the challenges of day to day operations and planning for future growth. But what happens if disaster strikes? Are you ready to the face the challenges that will occur if a fire destroys your office or an earthquake occurs in your vicinity? There are natural disasters and man-made disasters and it is wise to have a business continuity plan in place to meet the challenges of many situations.

Your business continuity plan can be just as important as any other type of business planning. In general, these plans contain five elements, some of which deal with what employees should do in variety of crises and some are created to handle information technology issues. One part of the plan will focus on employees and what they should do and where they should go in case of many different emergencies. This is called an occupant emergency plan, and this can help with evacuations or how to handle disasters and other types of emergencies.

Of course, you will want as little interruption to your business as possible no matter what type of crisis you face. Two parts of the continuity plan account for this, and they include a continuity of operations plan and a business resumption plan. These will ensure that you can continue dealing with client issues or at least get back in business as quickly as possible. Your employees and managers also will have an easier time dealing with a crisis if there is a plan in place. This provides a sense of security and lowers the stress level.

In addition to the aforementioned sections of the plan, you also will need to address issues concerning your information technology. Technology is the backbone of most companies these days, and it's difficult to work without access to your technology. Therefore you will need an incident management plan to tackle specific types of IT issues and a disaster recovery plan to handle your IT needs in case of a large-scale problem or disaster.

While you can create these plans yourself, it is often wise to have an IT consultant create these plans and offer out-sourced IT management. An IT consultant can handle all of your technology issues and create a plan that is tailored to your company. Every company is unique, so each business continuity plan also must be unique. In addition to creating these plans, your managed IT support provider also can consult with you concerning ways to improve your overall information technology plans and strategies.

How Triage Kits Help Save Lives In An Emergency

By Eric Holm

Triage kits share most of the characteristics of ordinary first aid kits but they usually contain other types of emergency equipment that are useful in a situation that affects multiple victims simultaneously. Triage is a term used to describe the process of analyzing injured people and deciding the best course of action to treat as many as possible. This system comes into play anytime there are multiple victims but especially when an accident occurs in a remote location that is difficult for rescue personnel to reach. The rescue workers must determine which victims can be treated at the scene and which need to be transported to a medical facility.

A triage kit contains a number of items essential to any emergency rescue, trauma and/or medical situation. Safety vests and colored tape to designate the different levels of severity of injury are just scratching the surface of triage kits and the use. The levels of a triage unit are generally minor, delayed, immediate and morgue/deceased. Those defined as having minor injuries obviously don't need urgent help. Patients who are diagnosed as delayed can wait for transport to a hospital. Those diagnosed as immediate are taken to hospitals right away. For those morgue patients, body bags will be needed. Also included in a triage kit is a book on setting up your triage unit and how to perform common operations.

Manuals explaining how to do CPR and provide treatment for a range of minor injuries should also be included in this type of first aid kit. One or two portable stretchers will be necessary if there are people with serious injuries that need to be carried away from the disaster scene.

Natural disasters and terrible accidents are situations no one ever wants to go through. When tragedy strikes, there is always a better chance for a positive outcome with the proper rescue equipment ready to go. Solar blankets and other first aid supplies can make a big difference if there is ever a disaster in your community and you are pressed into service.

All first responders will be familiar with analyzing injuries and prioritizing the need for treatment or transportation. During an earthquake, hurricane or flood, volunteers are often needed to help those who are injured. Learning the basics of offering assistance is something that everyone should take the time to do. There is no way of knowing when this knowledge can be used to save a life.

Reasons To Hire IT Consultants

By Frankline Bell

Information technology encompasses all of the data you store on your computer network as well as how you set up and use your network. It's often a good idea to either hire a consultant to set up your system or hire a consultant to review your IT plan and suggest changes and upgrades. An IT consultant can be a highly valuable resource for your company for many reasons.

Many large companies have IT personnel on staff and have an entire department dedicated to information technology. For a smaller company, having an IT manager might not be financially viable, but hiring a consultant can be quite affordable. Companies such as AlwaysOnIT can create a plan for you and then help you with support, monitoring your IT systems and providing upgrades.

One reason that people often hire consultants of all kinds is that it can be helpful to have an outside expert take a look at what your business is doing, as an impartial observer. A third party often can see things that you and your staff might not see, and they can make some important suggestions to help you maximize your business's potential. Also, your area of expertise as a manager probably isn't within the scope of information technology, so hiring an expert simply makes good sense.

Information technology changes constantly and your IT consultant will be up on all of the latest strategies and upgrades for software and hardware. Your job as a manager probably keeps you far too busy to figure out what changes need to be made to your IT plan, but your consultant specializes in this niche area and can make sure that all software updates are made as well as upgrading security, handling repairs and any other issues that might arise.

An IT firm, such as AlwaysOnIT can provide many important services. This might include around-the-clock monitoring of your IT systems and any necessary repairs for your computer hardware or software programs. Services also might include software remediation and automatic software updates to ensure the highest level of security as well as performance.

You also need a consultant that provides you with IT reports that offer meaningful suggestions and observations so that you can upgrade your IT plan from time to time to ensure that your business is running smoothly and you are getting the most out of your information technology. Be sure to also select an IT consultant firm that creates a comprehensive disaster recovery protocol so that if something catastrophic occurs, you have a plan in place. Part of this plan will include the installation of anti-virus programs as well as back-ups for your system, and your IT consultant will help ensure that your system is protected and secure. In addition, your consultant can create and implement an entire IT plan from the bottom up and provide the support you need to keep your business strong and successful.

Guidelines For Hiring The Right Provider For Managed Services

By Florence Fisher

IT systems are critical to the success of any company. Therefore, it is important for the organization to ensure that everything is up and running. This can only be achieved if you choose the best consultants to offer managed services for your business. However, there are many firms out there and this can make the selection quite challenging. These guidelines will help you make the right decision.

It is important for you to pick an organization that works with businesses that are of similar size to yours. This is because with regards to offering IT support size does matter. This is because the challenges that are faced by global corporations are different from those encountered by small companies. Therefore, a firm has to know the problems that you may encounter for them to fully assist you.

You need an enterprise that offers remote monitoring day and night, all year round. A good firm will invest in devoted monitoring systems that will identify any problems before shutting down your network or PC. Some service providers will only observe your network during the business hours only. This is not advisable as they may escalate the chances of your firm experiencing a system failure or security breach.

With new companies and consultants coming up every day, you have to be careful about the person you choose. This is because the security of your organizational data and your IT infrastructure is important. Therefore, you cannot just hire anyone who claims to be a professional. You should choose a company that have shown industry expertise and has an excellent reputation.

You should feel free to negotiate on the payment schedules, cost and other variables. This way, you will be sure that the solution you pick suits the financial expectations of your organization. You should look for a provider who offers liable, pay-as-you-go price. This way, you will know the amount of cash you will be paying every month.

You should choose a provider who offers monthly reporting. This is important because you want to know the performance of your IT environment all through the year. These reports will enable you to know the network areas that perform well and those that necessitate improvement. This way, you will know how to improve your business by focusing on the sections that record poor performance.

The price of the programs is very important. This is because you have to acquire a package that will help you increase your efficiency and elevate your profits. It does not make any business sense for you to spend a lot of money on a program that does not benefit your business. Ensure that you comparison-shop so that you can get the best service.

Services such as security patches, help desk support, alerts, user-end requests, change management, data back up and recovery tend to take a lot of your employees time. Therefore, most of them do not have ample time to concentrate on the fundamental aspects of your business. By tendering these tasks to specialists, your business will improve in efficiency and productivity.

By Jared Clarkson

Filing cabinets are still use nowadays but on a minimal way unlike several years ago that they are highly on demand because it is where documents are stored and there is no other way of storing it. Nowadays because of the advancement of the technology the content management system is born. This is a system wherein paper documents are converted into digital files and stored in a computer or online. The conversion is done by scanning and imaging. This a more convenient way to storing files rather than having a ceiling high stacks of documents.

An effective management system can really give you a lot of benefits such as saving up some office space or building space which you can use for other important purposes. Documents are accumulated every day. You can just imagine the number of documents that you have to store on filing cabinets for the following years to come. A single cabinet will not fit all of it, you really need several and you'll end up allocating a room or a whole floor for these cabinets. Unlike when you have an effective management system, you only need a computer to store up all the documents thus it is really possible for you to get rid of all the filing cabinets.

The convenience of file recovery is another great benefit that you can get by using this type of management system. Employees usually end up spending a lot of their work time in looking for single document because of the number of documents that are stock inside the storage rooms. Some of these documents have the possibility of either be misplace or lost thus sometimes the searching can be futile. Through the management system, your employees will just have to look for the document inside their computers. The searching will only last of a couple of seconds or minutes. It will be easy to find because the files are organized and can be retrieve with just a click.

Because of the fact that employees can easily find the files that they need, productivity increases. They can focus more of their time doing relevant and work-related tasks than wasting their time just searching for single document.
